As I listen to the impeachment hearings, the "fictional narrative" described by Dr. Fiona Hill as a Russian disinformation campaign makes me wonder if we are living through a period like the expansion of the Soviet sphere of influence after WWII.
We have a political party that seems to regard loyalty to party as more important than loyalty to country. This party is much like that described by George Orwell in 1984, "The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."
I wonder and worry what this new frontier will hold if the president can do whatever he wants, and his followers support him.
